About Oliver Prothmann
Oliver Prothmann is president of the Bundesverband Onlinehandel e.V (German Online Retail Association). The association represents medium-sized multi-channel retailers in Germany and Europe. As a renowned marketplace expert, Oliver Prothmann published “Marketplaces across the World” in 2017, which contained the first global ranking of online marketplaces as well as in-depth analysis.
In 2018 Oliver Prothmann launched the PANDA.BLACK platform in cooperation with BVOH. This platform connects German brands and businesses with Chinese B2C marketplaces. Chinese users can source quality products from Germany with guaranteed authenticity and to a very high level of customer service. Panda black was founded with the clear vision of “connecting cultures by Ecommerce”. For more than 20 years ,Oliver Prothmann has dealt intensively with eBusiness and Ecommerce, working with LandesBank Berlin, T-Online, eBay and paypal, amongst others.
Oliver Prothmann is also a commercial judge at the district court of Berlin and a guest professor at the Shandong Foreign Trade Vocational College (SFTC), in Qingdao, China. In 2014 Oliver Prothmann and his wife Kerstin together founded a social enterprise working to further the education and training of women in Nepal.
